Fairfield County Collects 159 Pounds of Unused Medication in Take Back Day

OHIO – Last weekend law enforcement in Fairfield County partnered with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) on Saturday, October 23rd to dispose of unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medications.

Collection sites in n Lancaster, Logan, and Pickerington allowed drive up and drop of sites for disposal of unused medication in medicine cabinets.

Fairfield county collected more than 159 Lbs of unused and unwanted prescription medication at these sites.

“As part of the DEA National Drug Take Back program we look forward to our next event in April. If you have unused or unwanted prescription medication you can drop it off at permanent collection boxes at the Lancaster Police Department or Pickerington Police Department. You can also call the Major Crimes Unit at 740-653-5224 for help in disposal.”
