HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A 21-year-old Circleville woman was hospitalized Tuesday night following a dramatic rollover crash on US-23 that sent her vehicle airborne into northbound lanes.

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on July 28, 2026, at approximately 8:51 p.m.

Investigators stated that Alexis Marie Stonerock was driving south on US-23 in the left lane near milepost 300 (near the 10630 block) in a red 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. As she traveled through Harrison Township, the vehicle’s passenger-side front wheel suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure.

The malfunction caused Stonerock to lose control, veering off the left side of the roadway and into the median. The car then struck a crossover, sending it completely airborne. According to the crash report, the vehicle flipped three to four times before landing on its top in the active northbound lanes of US-23.

Harrison Township EMS responded to the scene and transported Stonerock to Grant Medical Center for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.

The northbound and southbound lanes experienced significant disruptions as emergency crews managed the scene, resulting in the roadway being closed for approximately one hour. The vehicle, which sustained disabling damage, was towed from the scene by A&L Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
