Commercial Point Karting Classic Kicks off First Week in August

Commercial Point – On August 5th, 6th & 7th, 2021 the Village of Commercial Point, Ohio shuts down its downtown roads and sets up a unique racetrack.  

Karters and fans of all ages will enjoy an unforgettable weekend of entertainment and racing action! Start off the weekend on Friday evening with a Classic Car Show and free music from Avec Amour

A 6 foot trophy for the best car, may be the biggest in Pickaway County

On Saturday, the racing action begins with a day full of qualifying races, followed by a FREE family concert on Saturday by 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m Featuring: Yours For The Taking and Turn It Up, The Lynyrd Skynyrd Experience

Commercial point Mayor Allen Goldhardt said, “that this is one of the largest payouts in the country for this type of racing so it attracts people from all over the country to come to our town and race and with such an attractive pot for the winners the racers race hard its worth a visit.”

“Although the Commercial Point Karting Classic is only in its 10 year, street kart racing in Commercial Point, Ohio is a long-standing tradition.  Go-Karts have been racing these streets for over 50 years.  With the first race held in 1968 and continuing sporadically throughout the years, 2018 will mark the 26th race held on the streets of Commercial Point,” said Commercial Point Karting Classic.

All food and beverages served around town benefit local organizations and businesses.  This is a rain or shine event, and umbrellas are suggested for rainy days.

Parking is limited in the area during Kart events.  Commercial Point community center does parking just past the main downtown area in front of Scioto Elementary School and is the only cost to this event at 5 bucks to park that will go back into the community.
