Mayor says Beggars night is a rain or shine event
The City of Chillicothe has stated that they will not postpone or cancel tonight’s beggars Halloween event due to heavy rain in the forecast.
“Please be advised that heavy rain is currently forecasted for tonight. Beggars Night is a rain or shine community activity and will not be rescheduled. This decision was made in consultation with the Ross County Health District, the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission and neighboring communities in an effort to limit large crowds and reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
Recently the City asked to align all Halloween Trick or Treat events together on October 29th to limit spread of COVID-19.
The City of Chillicothe will proceed with its annual Trick-or-Treat Beggar’s Night from 6p to 7:30p on Thursday, October 29th, 2020. The City continues to follow Ross County Health District’s guidelines as well as best practices from the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) regarding Beggar’s Night. Residents are strongly encouraged to follow Governor Mike DeWine’s and the Ohio Department of Health’s recommendations on how to celebrate Halloween responsibly to keep your family, friends and neighbors healthy.
