CIRCLEVILLE — Local law enforcement and emergency services handled a steady stream of calls over a 24-hour period on Thursday, April 16, ranging from domestic disputes and harassment to high-speed traffic enforcement and fire assistance.

According to the latest Calls for Service (CFS) log, officers responded to a total of 34 incidents throughout the day.

Violent Incidents and Harassment

The evening hours saw a spike in conflict-related calls. Officers were dispatched to Timberline Drive at 7:16 p.m. following reports of a fight; a formal report was taken at the scene. Earlier in the day, a report was also filed on East Franklin Street regarding ongoing threats and harassment.

Late Thursday night, a juvenile complaint on US 23 South resulted in a police report, while a “runaway” call on South Pickaway Street was cleared without a formal report after officers made contact.

Emergency Services and Fire Response

Early Thursday morning, the Circleville Fire Department (CFD) was requested for mutual aid at 2:33 a.m. for an active fire. Firefighters managed to contain the situation and extinguish the blaze quickly.

Medical and safety alarms were a recurring theme throughout the day, with calls on Ridgedale Drive, West Main Street, and Edison Avenue. Most were found to be accidental or “checked okay” by responding units.

Traffic and Property Concerns

Traffic enforcement remained a priority, with several stops conducted across the city:

  • S. Pickaway St: A traffic stop at 4:01 p.m. resulted in a citation.
  • N. Court St: An afternoon stop ended with a warning.
  • Edison Ave: Officers took a report for property damage just after noon.
  • US 23: A report was taken regarding a suspicious person loitering near the highway around 6:11 p.m.

Community Safety Checks

Officers performed several well-being checks throughout the day on North Court Street and Margaret Avenue, ensuring that residents were safe and accounted for. Additionally, civil process papers were successfully served at a residence on North Court Street during the morning hours.

While many calls—including reports of suspicious persons on Kingston Pike and Logan Street—ended with the subjects being “gone on arrival,” the high volume of calls underscores a busy window for local first responders.
