CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department started the week with a steady stream of activity, handling 32 calls for service on Monday, April 13. While many incidents were resolved with warnings or routine checks, officers also responded to reports of violence and multiple instances of property damage.
Assault and Domestic Incidents
The most serious incident of the day occurred in the late morning when officers were dispatched to North Pickaway Street. At 11:09 AM, a report was filed for an assault. Details regarding the victim or potential suspects have not yet been released.
Later in the afternoon, police were called to South Pickaway Street at 4:22 PM to handle a report of domestic trouble. Officers took a formal report at the scene.
Property Damage and Fraud
Vandalism and accidental property damage were frequent themes throughout the day:
- North Court Street: A report of property damage was filed at 10:33 AM.
- Nicholas Drive: Officers took another property damage report at 2:06 PM.
- Roundtown Square: A third instance of property damage was reported at 4:39 PM.
In addition to physical damage, police responded to West Mound Street for a report of fraud. After an initial investigation, the matter was determined to be a civil issue rather than a criminal one.
Warrant Sweeps and Suspicious Activity
Police attempted to serve two warrants early Monday morning—one on Walnut Street and another on East Main Street. In both cases, the subjects were “Gone on Arrival” (GOA) and could not be located.
Officers also investigated several suspicious reports:
- A suspicious person was reported on East Mound Street around 10:30 AM.
- Suspicious vehicles were checked on Walnut Creek Pike and Walnut Street, with the latter investigated just before midnight.
Routine Patrols and Traffic
The night shift remained active with “Extra Patrols” on East Circle Lane, Logan Street, and East Main Street, all of which were reported as “Checked Okay.” Traffic stops on Clinton Street and North Court Street resulted in warnings rather than citations.
Other minor incidents included parking complaints on Sycamore Drive and Pecan Place, as well as several accidental 911 calls that were cleared after welfare checks.
