CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department remained active on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, managing 31 calls for service that ranged from early morning patrols to a high-stakes traffic stop late Tuesday night.

Injury Accident and Hit-Skip Reports

Traffic safety was a major focus for officers throughout the day. At 11:21 AM, emergency crews responded to Nicholas Drive for an accident involving injuries. Officers at the scene issued a citation following the crash. Later that evening, at 7:27 PM, police were called to South Court Street for a “hit-skip” accident. While no injuries were reported in that incident, a formal report was taken as investigators look for the fleeing driver.

Theft, Trespassing, and Fraud

Property crimes and disputes marked the afternoon hours. Officers were dispatched to Atwater Avenue just before 1:00 PM for a trespassing complaint, where a report was filed. Shortly after, at 3:19 PM, another report was taken on South Pickaway Street involving both theft and trespassing.

In a separate incident at 3:41 PM, a resident on Chatham Road reported a case of fraud, leading to an official police investigation.

Neighborhood Disturbance and Late-Night Arrest

The day saw its share of neighborhood friction, including a “neighbor trouble” call on Edison Avenue and a noise complaint on South Pickaway Street. While many of these calls resulted in no formal reports, officers did make a significant move late in the evening. At 9:01 PM, a traffic stop on East High Street escalated from a routine offense to an arrest.

Monitoring the Community

The department’s proactive efforts were evident in the early morning hours, with “extra patrols” conducted on Logan Street, East Ohio Street, East Main Street, and Imperial Court, all of which were found to be secure. Officers also responded to several 911 hang-ups and welfare checks throughout the city to ensure resident safety.
