CIRCLEVILLE – Police were called to the scene of a bloody carcass on Franklin street on Sunday but it didn’t end up being what the caller thought.

Around 9 am on Sunday a caller made a report with the Circleville Police department of what looked like a dead dog on the back of a red Buick SUV.

When police arrived on the scene they found the person responsible and he showed the officers it was just a dead deer that was shot earlier in the morning.

Ohio hunters harvested 70,413 deer during the 2021 deer gun week that concluded on Sunday, Dec. 5, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

Pickaway marked out for only 259 of them.
