Circleville – A man was arrested in April after beating a neighbor with a sign over a disagreement.
According to the Circleville Police Department, they were called to the scene on the 200 block of East Main Street when police arrived a neighbor told police that she had been in a physical fight with her neighbor after a verbal confrontation. In the report, the woman reported that the verbal fight started over the sign in the yard that escalated quickly when the man identified as Douglas Mead walked onto her porch during the fight and shoved her off of it. She landed in the flower bed where he took the metal part of the sign and proceeded to beat her with it. A neighbor reported to police that during the verbal fight, she looked out her doorway and saw Mead whipping her with, “a type of switch.”
Mead was arrested and charged with Felonious assault and probation violation.
