CHILLICOTHE – Union-Scioto Local School district was locked down this morning while Ross County Deputies were called to the school.

According to the school district, a gun was the cause of the lockdown, but after investigation, the “gun” ended up being a fake gun.

The school posted on social media, “I wanted to inform parents we had a modified lockdown at the high school this morning and contacted law enforcement to assist with a potential safety concern. The situation has been resolved and we appreciate the responsiveness and assistance of the law enforcement. Fortunately, there was no safety issue or danger for our students or staff at any time. Thank you.”
