
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local law enforcement handled a broad range of criminal investigations, neighborhood disputes, and welfare checks on Monday, including a fight at a local gas station and the discovery of a deceased individual.
According to the daily media report released by the Chillicothe Police Department on Tuesday morning, officers responded to 17 notable incidents over a 24-hour period on June 8, 2026.
Non-Suspicious Death Investigation
On Monday morning at approximately 9:04 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Mulberry Street in reference to a report of a deceased subject.
Upon arrival, responding officers located the body of Wallace Simpson II. Following an initial investigation at the scene, authorities determined that the death was non-suspicious. No further details have been released.
Gas Station Fight and Late-Night Disorderly Calls
The day began with a late-night response to a volatile situation in the business district:
- Sheetz Altercation: At 1:36 a.m., officers rushed to the Sheetz gas station at 1525 North Bridge Street following emergency calls regarding a fight in progress. A report for disorderly conduct involving insulting and taunting behavior was filed.
- Neighborhood Disturbances: Officers were called to two separate evening disturbances. At 5:40 p.m., a disorderly conduct incident drew police to 104 Ewing Street. Later, at 7:22 p.m., a similar call required an officer response at 412 West Main Street. Investigations into both incidents remain ongoing.
Property Crimes and Stalking Complaints
Property damage, theft, and domestic tension kept officers busy throughout the day shift:
- Vandalism & Trespassing: Police responded to criminal mischief and vandalism complaints at 33 North Renick Avenue (5:52 a.m.) and 782 East Water Street (4:49 p.m.). Earlier in the morning, at 8:30 a.m., a vehicle trespass complaint was logged at 191 Old Eastern Avenue.
- Larceny: Two separate thefts were reported in the afternoon. At 2:08 p.m., police took a larceny report via phone from a resident on North Brownell Street, followed by a second theft report at 2:22 p.m. occurring at 398 East 7th Street.
- Domestic Threats & Stalking: At 3:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to a law office at 2 West Main Street regarding a domestic dispute, resulting in an investigation into menacing by stalking. Later that evening, at 7:30 p.m., police responded to 369 East Water Street for a threats complaint, which was subsequently logged as domestic violence.
Additional Activity
The daily logs also indicated that officers served outstanding warrants at the Chillicothe Municipal Court on East Main Street (2:51 p.m.) and along South Brownell Street (4:23 p.m.).
Additionally, police began checking into a missing person report filed at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) at 1:04 p.m. regarding an individual from Oak Lane, and investigated a report of a potentially stolen vehicle at Nourse on North Bridge Street at 2:52 p.m. All of those investigations remain active.
