POMEROY, Ohio — A 19-year-old local man faces a lengthy prison sentence after entering a guilty plea Friday in connection with the March murder of a Meigs County woman.
Samuel Hochstetler, 19, pleaded guilty on July 24 to one count of Aggravated Murder for the March 12 death of 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger of Pomeroy. The plea was reached as part of an agreement negotiated through the Meigs County Prosecutor’s Office.
Following the court proceeding, Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch issued a special release highlighting the collaborative effort between local law enforcement and prosecutors to bring closure to the community.
“Today marks an important step toward justice for our community with the guilty plea in an Aggravated Murder case investigated by the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Fitch said. “While no court outcome can erase the loss experienced by the victim’s family and loved ones, we hope today’s guilty plea provides them with a measure of justice and brings them one step closer to healing.”
Sheriff Fitch commended his office’s deputies and detectives for their extensive investigation, as well as Meigs County Prosecutor James Stanley and his staff for securing the conviction before Meigs County Common Pleas Court Judge Linda Warner.
Hochstetler remains in custody pending formal sentencing, where he is expected to serve a substantial prison term.
