
Chillicothe — Yoctangee Park activity, traffic, and work dominated the mayor’s briefing to Chillicothe Council on Monday evening.
Clint Boggs, Chief of Staff for the mayor, sat in for Luke Feeney to give a four-minute briefing to council on June 8th, 2026.
Hear him in his own words below. In outline, he said:
- The city successfully navigated recent downtown street closures for Gus Macker, Feast of the Flowering Moon, and Chillicothe Half Marathon.
- Street closures coming up this week / weekend: Southern Ohio Forest Rally and Kenworth Truck Parade.
- Southern Ohio Forest Rally will involve only a closure inside Yoctangee Park on Thursday afternoon.
- Kenworth Truck Parade will circle through the downtown on Saturday evening.
- Yoctangee Boulevard is now fully closed at Mill Street, with expectation to reopen for the new school year.
- The lakeside road in Yoctangee Park – Enderlin Circle – is now permanently two-way.
- Dozens of workers are busy on construction in Yoctangee Park.
- Park work is scheduled to be finished on October 1st.
- City engineer Dean Carrol retired a couple weeks ago.
- The city pool opened on May 28, and has had high attendance since the spotty weather then.
