CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled several investigations on July 27, including an alleged child abuse case, trespassing complaints, a protection order violation, and a reported hit-skip crash, according to the department’s daily media report.
Detectives were assigned a case involving allegations of abuse and drug use involving three children at a residence on Madeira Avenue. One of the children involved is reported to have autism. The case was referred to police through the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Officers also responded to the Cozy Inn on Western Avenue regarding a trespassing complaint. The incident was reported as criminal mischief, and the investigation is continuing.
Police were called to the Chillicothe Law Enforcement Complex lobby regarding an alleged violation of a protection order or consent agreement. The case remains under investigation.
Later in the day, officers responded to the 100 block of South Hickory Street after a report of individuals trespassing in a garage. The incident involved allegations of criminal trespass, and a warrant-related matter was also noted.
Officers responded to an address on Cleveland Street regarding a domestic dispute involving an unruly child. The investigation is ongoing.
A warrant service was also conducted at the Ross County Jail on North Paint Street. The case remains pending.
Police returned to South Hickory Street later that evening for another reported trespassing complaint.
Officers investigated a threats complaint in the 100 block of North Paint Street involving allegations of menacing by stalking.
The final reported incident of the day occurred shortly before midnight on Scioto Avenue, where officers responded to a reported hit-skip crash. The investigation is ongoing.
