CHILLICOTHE, OH — The first day of May proved to be a volatile start to the month for Chillicothe law enforcement, as officers juggled a series of late-night brawls, a sexual assault investigation, and the arrest of a woman named in a secret indictment.

Late-Night Violence and Public Intoxication

The month began with a flurry of activity in the early morning hours of Friday. At 12:22 AM, units were dispatched to the Cozy Inn on Western Avenue following reports of a fight in progress. Simultaneously, officers responded to a separate domestic dispute on Elm Street.

Shortly after, at 12:52 AM, police were called to the intersection of Delano Avenue and Arch Street regarding an intoxicated female “roaming about.” The encounter resulted in charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Secret Indictment and Warrant Arrests

Evening patrols led to a significant arrest on the city’s east side. At 7:10 PM, an officer spotted Amy Holderman in a front yard on East 4th Street. Knowing Holderman had an active warrant, the officer confirmed the details and took her into custody.

Upon arrival at the Ross County Jail, Holderman was served with a secret indictment for drug possession. She is currently being held without bond until her scheduled court appearance on Monday, May 4. Another warrant was served earlier in the afternoon following a citizen contact on Seney Road.

Thefts, Threats, and Assault Investigations

The CPD is currently looking into several serious reports involving property and personal safety:

  • Sexual Assault: At 3:08 PM, officers were dispatched to Park Street to take a report of a sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
  • Apartment Theft: A resident reported a theft from a deceased relative’s apartment at the National Church Residency on University Drive. The complainant stated that between March 23 and April 4, several sentimental items—including a vase, cameo brooches, and candlestick holders—along with a 24-inch TV, were taken from the unit.
  • Juvenile Assault: Late Friday evening, police responded to Sherman Park regarding a juvenile complaint involving an alleged assault.

Traffic and Accidents

Friday afternoon saw two notable traffic incidents. A crash was reported on Western Avenue involving a vehicle failing to stay within marked lines. Later, at 4:11 PM, officers responded to another collision at Limestone Boulevard caused by a failure to yield while turning left.

The department also continues to investigate a missing person report filed shortly after 1:00 AM on Friday morning originating from Pleasant Valley Road.
