Chillicothe Police Blotter: Busy Monday Includes Traffic Enforcement, Theft Investigations, and Pedestrian Struck at Sheetz

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department stayed active on Monday, April 27, 2026, handling 26 incidents ranging from a series of stop-sign violations to a pedestrian being struck at a local gas station.

Pedestrian Struck on North Bridge Street

Late Monday evening, officers were dispatched to the Sheetz Gas Station at 1525 N. Bridge St. following a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The incident, reported at 9:05 PM, is currently under investigation. The condition of the pedestrian has not yet been released.

“Stop Sign Alley” – Allen Avenue Crackdown

Police conducted heavy traffic enforcement at the intersection of Allen Avenue and Church Street Monday evening, resulting in multiple citations:

  • Kristen Parker-Weinhart of Grove City was cited after her Toyota 4Runner failed to stop at the intersection. She reportedly told officers she was unfamiliar with the area and in a hurry to get to a sports game.
  • Tyler Gillum was also issued a citation after his GMC truck was observed proceeding completely through the stop sign without slowing down.

Theft and Financial Crimes

Several investigations into property and financial crimes were launched throughout the day:

  • Stolen Vehicle: A resident reported an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle that occurred on Clay Street.
  • Bad Checks: Detectives have opened an investigation into a theft involving “passing bad checks” originating on West Main Street.
  • General Theft: A theft complaint was filed at 241 N. High Street just before 10:00 AM; the investigation remains ongoing.

Notable Calls and Incidents

  • Western Avenue Disturbance: At 4:33 PM, officers responded to the intersection of Western and Main for a report of a male claiming “people are after him.”
  • E-Bike Seizure: A motorized bicycle was seized following a traffic stop on West 2nd Street near North Paint Street, though it was later released to the owner.
  • Criminal Mischief: Vandalism was reported at 8 W. 6th Street at 8:08 PM.
  • Domestic Disputes: Officers handled reports of domestic incidents on Long Street and Jefferson Avenue, as well as a disorderly conduct call on Whaley Place.

The department also served warrants at the Ross County Jail and issued summons for criminal trespass at the Pilot on East Main Street following an initial call for a medical emergency.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
