LANCASTER, Ohio — Chick-fil-A is officially expanding its footprint in Lancaster, and the company is marking its arrival with a significant investment in the community’s social safety net.
The new restaurant, located in the heart of Lancaster, opened its doors with a mission centered on more than just food service, announcing a major charitable contribution and a long-term commitment to local hunger relief.
A Major Boost for Hunger Relief
To celebrate the grand opening, Chick-fil-A has donated $25,000 to Feeding America. These funds are specifically earmarked to support the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, a local Feeding America partner that provides essential grocery and meal services to residents throughout the region.
Beyond the initial cash donation, the Lancaster location will become a permanent partner in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ program. This initiative ensures that surplus food from the kitchen is redirected to local non-profits rather than going to waste. In Lancaster, the restaurant’s surplus will be donated directly to Foundation Dinners, a local food bank dedicated to feeding those in need within the city.
“Caring for people is the common thread that runs through the story of Chick-fil-A,” the company stated. “It starts in our restaurants with top-quality food, but it continues through our commitment to strengthening and supporting our community.”
Creating 100+ Local Jobs
The new Lancaster location isn’t just bringing new dining options; it’s serving as a significant local employer. The restaurant has hired over 100 Team Members from the Lancaster area.
Management emphasized that these roles are designed to be more than just shifts. The restaurant is focused on “fruitful career opportunities,” offering professional development aimed at helping young employees and local residents optimize their skills for future leadership roles and upward mobility within the company.
