Update: Vehicle Crash with Entrapment Sends to Helicopters to Ross County

ROSS – Emergency crews are heading to the scene of a vehicle crash with at least two people injured in Ross County around 2:40 pm on Monday,

According to early reports, two people are injured and at least one person is entrapped in a car in the area of 31862 Us Route 50. According to law enforcement on scene the crash was a T bone crash and one vehicle to a heavy hit into the side of the vehicle sending it off the roadway and almost onto its side.

Chillicothe – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred on US Route 50 approximately one-tenth of a mile west of mile marker 32.
On December 20, 2021, at approximately 2:40 P.M., A 2020 Ford F350, driven by Jason Drake, 48, of Londonderry, was traveling southeast on US Route 50 when a 2014 Hyundai Accent, driven by Elijah Hitchcock, 18, of Tuscarawas, failed to yield from a private drive and entered the roadway. The Ford struck the Hyundai in the side, causing it to travel off the roadway and into a ditch. Mr. Hitchcock and his passenger, Gabrielle Hitchcock, 20, of
Tuscarawas, were extricated by mechanical means and transported by air to Grant Medical Center by Med Flight for their injuries. US Route 50 was closed for approximately one hour and twenty minutes.


Jefferson Township Fire/EMS and Liberty Township Fire/EMS assisted on scene . The crash remains under investigation.
