Breaking: Fire in Sofidel has Several Fire Departments on Scene

Sofidel-plant — Sofidel built a tissue paper manufacturing plant on 280 acres in Circleville, Ohio. The site is one mile long, and the building contains more than 1.4 million square feet. The integrated plant incorporates a paper mill, a converting plant for producing the finished product and a state-of-the-art warehousing facility. Once at full capacity, the facility will employ 700 people.

PICKAWAY – A fire in Sofidel has several departments on the scene around 1 pm on Wednesday.

According to early reports, a fire broke out in the main building of the factory. The department called for mutual aid from surrounding fire stations including the Circleville ladder truck.

It currently is unknown the extent of the fire inside the building., but the departments have the fire mostly under control at this time. The department reports that they believe this is most likely an electrical fire
