Update: Woman Accused of Fairfield County Jail Exposure to Fentanyl

Fairfield – Over a dozen emergency first responders units responded to 345 Lincon Ave Fairfield sheriff’s office for support on a possible exposure at 11 pm last night.

According to Fairfield Sheriff, the exposure happened when a new inmate identified as 52, year-old Shelly Rutter was taken into the jail, he had some sort of compound on him that he had illegally conveyed into the jail. Four jail staff employees were exposed to the compound that is suspected of fentanyl. Due to the nature of the incident, the jail was placed on lockdown.

All four employees were treated at the scene then transferred to Fairfield Medical center to be treated then released.

At 11:30 pm: Several Hazmat teams are on the scene for decontamination. The incident is still under investigation at this time.

Sheriff reported that charges are pending against the woman
