ASHVILLE, OH — Defense tech contractor Anduril Industries is ramping up operations in Pickaway County, announcing the expansion of its ALTIUS 600 autonomous aircraft production to its flagship Arsenal-1 manufacturing facility in Ashville.
The move comes in response to surging global demand for autonomous defense platforms. The new manufacturing line in Ohio will significantly boost Anduril’s overall production capacity, while existing production of the system will continue at the company’s facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
At the Ashville plant, the ALTIUS 600 joins a high-tech lineup of autonomous systems already slated for mass manufacturing, including the Fury autonomous combat aircraft, the Roadrunner vertical-takeoff interceptor, and the Barracuda family of low-cost air-breathing autonomous strike weapons.
Versatile Autonomous Capability
The ALTIUS 600 (Air-Launched Tube-Integrated Unmanned System) is a highly adaptable, tube-launched autonomous aircraft designed to perform multi-domain missions—including intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), tactical strike, signal intelligence, and electronic warfare.
Capable of being launched from land vehicles, rotorcraft, fixed-wing aircraft, and maritime platforms, the ALTIUS system features modular payload integration. This enables operators to rapidly swap out sensors, explosive warheads, or electronic warfare tools depending on mission objectives, making it one of the most flexible loitering systems utilized by defense partners worldwide.
Local Hiring Underway in Ashville
To support the expansion, Anduril has officially kicked off hiring for experienced launch-team members who will set up and establish the ALTIUS 600 line in Ashville. Company officials noted that broader technical and manufacturing hiring will quickly follow as the line is finalized and production scales up.
“Arsenal-1 was designed to give Anduril the capacity and flexibility to respond quickly to growing demand,” said Kevin Kerr, Vice President of Production at Anduril. “Expanding ALTIUS 600 production to Ohio is another example of that strategy becoming real. We are adding capability, building the team and continuing to deliver on the commitments we made when we announced Arsenal-1.”
