PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A late-night, high-speed motorcycle pursuit through Pickaway County came to an abrupt halt when the fleeing driver lost control, crashed, and was found hiding partially in a roadside bush.
Twenty-two-year-old Trey Adams was arrested overnight following the multi-mile chase, which reached speeds exceeding 120 mph.
High-Speed Pursuit Through County Roads
According to early reports from law enforcement, the incident began when aCommerical Point officer attempted to pull over a black motorcycle in the area of State Route 104 and State Route 762. Instead of yielding, the operator—later identified as Adams—refused to stop and bolted, accelerating to dangerous speeds around 120 mph.
The suspect led deputies on a wild route, making several erratic turns:
- Heading west on Vanmeter Road
- Traveling south on Commercial Point Road
- Cutting back toward State Route 104, where he cranked the speed back up to 120 mph
During the pursuit, Adams managed to temporarily pull away from trailing patrol units by navigating a notoriously dangerous curve near the Commercial Point Road intersection at high speeds, a maneuver that proved too risky for the cruiser to match at the same pace.
Crash and Capture
However, the high-speed run cut short when “karma” caught up with the rider. Adams lost control of the bike near 18561 Commercial Point Road, laying the motorcycle down and causing significant disabling damage along with sustaining minor injuries.
When deputies caught up to the wreckage, they discovered Adams tucked away partially inside a bush beside his wrecked motorcycle.
A subsequent check revealed that Adams was operating under suspension. He was taken into custody, and his heavily damaged bike was impounded. Adams was transported to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Jail to face multiple charges, including failure to comply with an order or signal, reckless operation, obstruction of official business, and operating without a valid license. He is awaiting his initial court appearance.
