A re-enactor explains a Revolutionary-era rifle at Adena Mansion & Gardens

Chillicothe — “America 250” continues this Saturday with a second event at Adena Mansion & Gardens in Chillicothe. Here is a look back at the very popular big event there on June 13th and 14th, with military re-enactors and cannon fire…and amazed kids.

Then on July 18th, 2026, “watch the Muffins and Worthingtons play 1800s baseball, followed by free hot dogs, family games, and crafts – to celebrate America 250 style.” Find information on the “America 250 Ross County” Facebook Event page.

Also find the Facebook page of the Adena “Worthingtons” vintage “Base Ball” team, who often play against the Ohio Village “Muffins” in 1850s-rules games – with their event page for Saturday’s game.

Local events continue each month through the end of the year, as listed in the below flyer.

See also my report with about 47 minutes of the two events on July 4th, as well as a glance at the showing of “1776” at the Majestic. (You can also search for other America 250 events on the Scioto Post.)

“America 250 Ross County” has a Facebook page, and a page hosted by the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau.
