CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Adena Health and Fairfield Medical Center leadership will gather in Lancaster on Tuesday, September 1, to host a formal signing ceremony finalizing Adena’s acquisition of the Lancaster-based health system.
The ceremony will mark the completion of a multi-month integration process that began in June 2026, when both non-profit health organizations entered into a nonbinding letter of intent to evaluate a formal partnership. Representatives noted that both parties have since completed a comprehensive due diligence phase to assess organizational alignment and strategic growth opportunities.
According to health system officials, the acquisition aims to expand regional health care resources, improve operational coordination, and bolster medical services across south-central and central Ohio.
The signing event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. in the Assembly Room at Fairfield Medical Center, located at 401 N. Ewing Street in Lancaster. Leadership from both institutions are slated to present their vision for the future of local health care delivery following the official signing.
