
BLOOM TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A two-vehicle head-on crash on State Route 674 sent two drivers to local hospitals Monday afternoon, according to a report released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:55 p.m. on August 24, 2026, on State Route 674 in Bloom Township, just south of Winchester Southern Road.
According to investigating Trooper Stuart Weyrich, a 2010 Ford Focus driven by 23-year-old McKenna Collison of Junction City was traveling southbound on SR 674 when the vehicle crossed the center line. Collison’s vehicle collided head-on with a northbound 2024 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 67-year-old Jill Hummel of Canal Winchester.
Both drivers were sole occupants of their vehicles and sustained injuries in the crash:
- Jill Hummel suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by Bloom Township EMS to OhioHealth Pickerington. She was wearing a shoulder and lap seatbelt at the time of the impact.
- McKenna Collison sustained suspected serious injuries and was completely ejected from her vehicle. She was transported by Bloom Township EMS to Mount Carmel East.
Troopers cited Collison for driving left of center on a two-lane roadway (O.R.C. 4511.25A).
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by A & L Towing. Route 674 was closed for approximately one hour as emergency crews responded and cleared the roadway. Weather and road conditions were reported as clear and dry at the time of the crash.
