CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department handled a steady stream of 36 calls for service on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, dealing with everything from overnight patrols to daytime domestic disputes and property crimes.

Daytime Thefts and Domestic Trouble

The late morning proved to be the busiest window for officers. At 11:39 AM, units responded to a domestic trouble call on Dunmore Road, where an official report was filed. This coincided with a theft report taken on North Court Street just ten minutes later.

Property crimes continued into the evening, with another theft report taken at 6:15 PM on Lancaster Pike. Additionally, a resident on Hassle Drive filed a formal trash dumping complaint earlier in the day at 11:31 AM.

Traffic and Roadway Hazards

Roadway safety remained a priority throughout Wednesday. Officers responded to a non-injury accident on East Main Street around noon and managed a disabled vehicle in the same area earlier that morning.

Enforcement was also active, with traffic stops on Lancaster Pike and US 23 resulting in citations, while a stop on East Ohio Street in the early morning hours ended with a warning. Police also checked on a report of downed lines and poles on East Main Street at 10:19 AM to ensure the area was safe.

Juvenile and Nuisance Complaints

As the day wound down, officers shifted their focus to neighborhood concerns. Two separate juvenile complaints were logged on North Court Street and Shagbark Street, with the latter resulting in a formal report. Police also investigated a dirt bike/ATV complaint on North Court Street at 5:29 PM, which was found to be “okay” upon inspection.

Overnight Vigilance

The department’s overnight shift was characterized by a heavy presence of “extra patrols.” Officers proactively checked residential and commercial areas on Logan Street, Walnut Street, East Mound Street, Imperial Court, West Water Street, and West Main Street, ensuring doors were locked and neighborhoods remained quiet.
