CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 20, 2025) — The Circleville Police Department experienced a busy stretch during the week of the Circleville Pumpkin Show, responding to 168 calls for service between October 14 and October 19, according to newly released reports.
The incidents ranged from traffic stops and parking complaints to domestic disturbances, thefts, and a handful of injury crashes as large crowds descended upon downtown Circleville for the annual event.
Among the more notable reports:
- Several traffic-related incidents were logged, including multiple accidents on U.S. 23, Lancaster Pike, and South Court Street, some involving injuries.
- Domestic disputes were reported on Eva Drive, Walnut Street, and W. Mound Street, with at least one case resulting in an arrest.
- Police investigated threats and harassment calls across several streets including E. Franklin, W. Water, and N. Court, leading to multiple reports taken.
- Officers responded to several 911 hang-ups throughout the weekend, most of which were found to be accidental.
- A burglary in progress on Cottage Hill Lane was among the more serious calls handled, along with a runaway juvenile reported from Clinton Street and Renick Avenue.
- A dog bite was also reported on W. High Street, with officers filing a report.
Routine patrols and extra checks were a significant part of the department’s activity, particularly around N. Court Street, E. Circle Lane, and the downtown area, where officers maintained a visible presence during the festival.
Despite the influx of visitors for the Pumpkin Show, most incidents were minor and handled without major disruption. Police issued several warnings and citations for traffic and parking violations but reported no major public safety concerns during the festivities.
