Circleville Police Respond to Dozens of Calls Over Busy Weekend

CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department handled a wide range of incidents from Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, responding to 76 calls for service including thefts, traffic stops, suspicious activity, and multiple alarm drops.

Among the weekend’s notable calls:

  • Theft reports were logged at several locations, including Watt Street, Logan Street, and Florence Chapel Pike, with at least three incidents resulting in formal reports.
  • Traffic enforcement was active across the city, with officers issuing multiple warnings and citations, including stops on E Main Street, Logan Street, US 23, and S Pickaway Street.
  • Officers responded to several 911 hang-ups throughout the weekend, all of which were either cleared or found to be accidental.
  • A dog bite incident occurred Friday morning on Clinton Street, prompting emergency squad response, though no report was taken.
  • Fights and disturbances were reported on S Court Street, Fairview Boulevard, and Watt Street, with only one resulting in a formal report.
  • Suspicious persons and alarm drops led to numerous checks across neighborhoods including Island Road, Northridge Road, and Logan Street, all ultimately found to be non-threatening.
  • On Saturday evening, police responded to a reported fire on W High Street and a case of vandalism on Sycamore Drive, both of which were documented.
  • Sunday saw additional calls for vandalism, burglary, and property damage on Logan Street and Kingston Pike, continuing a trend of criminal mischief in the area.

Officers also conducted routine business checks, well-being checks, and extra patrols to maintain visibility and safety throughout the community.

One arrest was made Sunday morning on Harrison Street in connection with a warrant issued at the request of another agency.
