July 3

– A resident in the 900 block of South Washington Street reported her daughter and her boyfriend were having an argument, and the male was intoxicated. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A resident in the 400 block of Stella Avenue reported a 52-year-old male was overdosing on heroin. The subject was transported to Berger Hospital.

– A 911 caller reported a female was stuck between floors in an elevator at Good Shepherd Church on East Main Street. The fire department handled the scene.

– A resident in the 200 block of Clark Drive reported he found a pair of boots in the creek. A report was taken.

– A caller reported people were working on a vehicle on a city street in the 200 block of North Washington Street. The subjects were advised of city ordinance and moved the vehicle to city property.

– A 911 caller reported residents in the 1000 block of Mulberry Road were setting off loud fireworks. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A resident in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported he had been receiving harassing phone calls from a known male subject. Officers determined there was no harassment, and no report was taken.

– A resident came to the police station to report two dogs barking non-stop in the 100 block of Hayward Street. Officers advised the dogs were inside and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 1000 block of North Court Street.

– A resident in the 400 block of Brown Street reported a known female subject stole several money orders and cashed them. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 300 block of Logan Street reported an active fight between a father and son. The caller then advised the son was gone, and officers were no longer needed. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A South Bloomfield resident came to the police station to turn in a wallet she found in an article of clothing purchasing at a thrift store on the way through town. A report was taken on found property.

– A resident in the 100 block of Highland Avenue reported someone had accessed her bank account without permission. A report was taken on theft.

– Officers responded twice to an activated alarm at The Savings Bank on North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported juveniles at a home near the corner of South Pickaway and East Mill streets had a fire on the porch of the house. Officers determined they had a small grill on the porch. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a fireworks complaint in the area of Tower Court. The district officer was advised.

– A resident at Apple Ridge Apartments on Lancaster Pike reported juveniles running around with fireworks. The district officer was advised.

– Officers responded to reports of an attempted suicide in the 500 block of South Court Street. The subject was transported to Berger Hospital, and a report was taken on possession.

– An officer reported a suspicious vehicle on Island Road. The officer advised the subjects had permission to be on the property, and the scene checked OK.

July 4

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a vehicle northbound on North Court Street with no headlights on. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to reports of loud music in the area of Margaret Alley. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a male subject from an earlier suicide attempt was causing a disturbance and attempting to leave. An arrest was made, and a supplemental report was taken.

– A resident in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue reported his neighbor was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. No report was taken.

– A 911 caller reported an active fight in the alley behind the Main Street Pub on West Main Street. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue reported the neighbors were being very loud. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported a dog was struck by a vehicle in the area of Barnes and Clinton Street. The dog warden was advised and took possession of the dog.

– A 911 caller reported a loose dog was being aggressive in the 200 block of North Washington Street. The caller then called back to report the dog had been retrieved by its owner.

– A resident in the 400 block of Ruth Avenue reported a suspicious subject in a vehicle that had been parked for a long period of time in the area. The subject checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 100 block of Wilson Avenue. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue reported two aggressive pit bulls in her yard. The call was relayed to the dog warden, who handled the scene.

– A resident in the 1400 block of Pecan Place reported a Saint Bernard came to her residence. The dog warden was advised.

– An employee at Holiday Inn Express on U.S. Route 23 reported two males had harassed lobby staff over the price of renting a room and were asked to leave the property, but they were still in the parking lot. The subjects left prior to the officer’s arrival, and the caller was advised to call back if they returned.

– A resident in the 400 block of Abernathy Avenue reported her father was hitting her mother, then he took her mother’s phone and left on foot. The male was detained, but the victim refused to cooperate in regards to a theft. The property was returned, and the male was advised not to return to the location.

– A resident in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported he was being threatened and harassed by a known subject through phone calls and social media. The officer advised the communication was through social media and cannot be substantiated. No report was taken.

– A 911 caller reported he locked his keys in his vehicle at Aldi’s, but there were no children or animals in the vehicle. He was given the non-emergency number for further service.

– A caller reported he was on the phone with his sister in the 500 block of Northridge Road and heard her arguing with her father. The sister then stated her dad hit her will a cell phone. Officers advised the female checked OK.

– A caller advised a female caller her at work to tell her people had been going in and out of her home several times during the day on Detroiter Avenue. Officers found the back door was unsecured, but they cleared the home and found no one inside. A door hanger was left, and the back door was secured.

– A resident in the 200 block of Watt Street reported people were stealing items from her yard. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported known subjects had been trying to get into her home in the 300 block of Long Street. A female was inside the home, and the caller advised she wanted everyone to leave and lock the house.

– A caller reported a group of kids were smoking cigarettes in the 600 block of South Court Street. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles.

– A resident in the 100 block of Hayward Avenue reported the dogs across the street were continuously barking. The owner was advised.

– A caller reported a young child was throwing fireworks at vehicles as they drove by in the area of Pickaway and Logan streets. Officers were unable to locate the juvenile.

– A resident in the 100 block of Hayward Street reported her neighbor had been yelling for an extended period of time, and she was trying to have a family get-together next door. A report was taken on a noise complaint.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 1300 block of Eastwood Drive. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 400 block of John Street reported an elderly neighbor backed her vehicle into a fence, and she believed the neighbor knew she hit it. A report was taken on a property damage hit-skip.

– A resident in the 200 block of East Ohio Street reported he found a starving female dog covered in oil from head to toe in the area of the 1100 block of South Washington Street. He took the dog home and would feed and bathe it, but wanted officers to be aware. The dog warden was contacted and handled the scene.

– A resident in the 1600 block of Atwater Avenue reported he found a friendly Saint Bernard with a collar but no ID tags. The dog warden was advised.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 500 block of South Court Street after a resident reported a neighbor was setting off fireworks.

– A 911 caller reported a lot of fireworks going off in the area of Parklawn Drive. The caller was advised of the proper use of 911. Officers were unable to locate any fireworks in the area.

– A caller reported fireworks going off in the 600 block of East Mound Street. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Union Street reported countless large fireworks going off in the area of East Union and South Washington streets. The district officer was advised.

– A resident reported a broken window in the 100 block of West Ohio Street. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Franklin Street reported fireworks being set off in the area very close to houses. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Main Street reported fireworks being set off in the area that sounded like her house was exploding. The district officer was advised.

– Josh Griffith was arrested in the area of Alma Avenue after a caller reported a male was out front harassing him. A report was taken on possession of drug abuse instruments.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported a male subject harassing him. Officers advised there was no disturbance. A juvenile was not getting along with the mother’s boyfriend.
