LOGAN, Ohio – The charming streets of downtown Logan, Ohio, are set to welcome a delightful invasion of iconic Airstream travel trailers during the annual Urban Air: Wake Up Downtown festival. From Thursday, May 2, to Sunday, May 5, Main Street in the Hocking Hills region will transform into a vibrant hub of activity, as approximately 70 gleaming Airstreams from across the United States and Canada converge for a weekend of camaraderie and celebration.

Visitors to the festival will have the unique opportunity to stroll along a three-block stretch of Main Street, closed to vehicular traffic to create a safe and inviting pedestrian mall. Friday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, offer the best chance to admire the full array of these beloved RVs, known for their distinctive silver exteriors and timeless allure.

As the Airstreams adorn the streets, the atmosphere will resonate with live music, echoing the laid-back spirit of the Airstream way of life. Festival-goers can engage with experienced travelers, swapping stories and gaining insights into the joys of owning and traveling in these iconic trailers.

Adding to the festivities, the festival will host the annual Pimp Your Blimp decorating contest, inviting guests to vote for their favorite elaborately adorned Airstream. This year’s theme, “In Our Element,” encourages participants to explore scientific and metaphysical concepts, with entries showcasing themes such as fire, water, earth, and chemistry.

The cultural offerings of the festival extend beyond Airstream admiration, with a live comedy show featuring Ricky Glore at the historic Logan Theater & Community Arts Center on Friday, May 3. Saturday promises a full day of live music performances, including local favorites Audie Wykle, Rick Miller, and The Band Riff Street at Logan Town Square gazebo, followed by more live music at Logan’s Worthington Park.

Beyond the festival grounds, attendees can explore the rich offerings of the Hocking Hills region, including tours of the last remaining washboard factory, visits to local shops and restaurants, and tastings at Hocking Hills Moonshine Distillery, breweries, and wineries. Outdoor enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to embark on adventures amidst the region’s sprawling parks, forests, waterfalls, caves, and scenic trails.

In addition to being a source of entertainment and education about Airstream culture, Urban Air® serves as a fundraiser for the community, with proceeds from the trailer decorating contest and participant auction benefiting downtown development and charitable causes in Logan.
