KINGSTON, OH — A two-vehicle collision at a known rural intersection claimed the life of a woman and left a man in critical condition on Sunday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on May 17, 2026, at approximately 2:51 P.M. at the busy intersection of State Route 159 and County Road 1 (Kingston Adelphi Road), prompting a multi-agency emergency response from both Pickaway and Ross counties.
Failure to Stop Leads to Impact
According to state troopers from the OSHP Circleville Post, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Kenneth Boyce, was traveling westbound on Kingston Adelphi Road. At the same time, a 2023 CAN-AM Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle, operated by Ellery Elick, was traveling southbound on State Route 159.
Investigators state that Boyce failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign controlling County Road 1. The pickup truck slowly proceeded into the intersection, where it struck the oncoming CAN-AM Spyder.
The force of the impact violently threw both Elick and his passenger, Peggy Sims, from the motorcycle. The vehicle then careened off the side of the roadway before coming to a final rest.
Casualties and Hospital Transports
Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly to treat the severely injured riders.
- Peggy Sims: She was rushed by the Green Township Fire Department to Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, where she was tragically pronounced deceased from her injuries.
- Ellery Elick: He sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition at a regional trauma facility.
The driver of the pickup truck, Boyce, was not reported to have sustained any major injuries.

Due to the location of the crash near the county line, a massive mutual aid network responded to assist with medical care, traffic control, and scene management. The Circleville Post was assisted on-scene by:
