JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Three people were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a Ford Mustang left U.S. 35 and crashed into a residence in Ross County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Chillicothe Post, the crash occurred at approximately 6:14 a.m. September 23 near milepost 37 on U.S. 35 in Jefferson Township.
Troopers said a 2022 Ford Mustang, driven by 32-year-old Christopher Robinette of Jackson, was traveling westbound on U.S. 35 when he failed to negotiate a curve.
The Mustang traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a nearby residence.
Two occupants inside the home, Matthew Reynolds and Holley Reynolds, were also struck when the vehicle entered the residence.
Robinette, Matthew Reynolds and Holley Reynolds all sustained serious injuries in the crash. All three were transported to Adena Regional Hospital in Chillicothe by Jefferson Township EMS.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Jefferson Township Fire and EMS, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Sprouse Towing and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
One lane of U.S. 35 was closed for approximately two hours while troopers investigated the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
