Jackson, OH, June 14, 2024 – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Friday, June 14, 2024, on State Route 56 near milepost 4 in Swan Township, Vinton County. Troopers from the Jackson Patrol Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the incident at approximately 4:33 PM.
Mason White, 18, of New Plymouth, Ohio, was traveling east on State Route 56 on a 2022 CFMOTO 300SS motorcycle. According to reports, White failed to negotiate a curve, causing him to travel off the right side of the roadway, where he struck a mailbox and a ditch. The motorcycle overturned multiple times. Tragically, Mr. White was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, Vinton County EMS, McArthur Fire Department, and McDonald’s Towing assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
