SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — The South Bloomfield Police Department is calling on neighborhood residents to review their home security and doorbell cameras following a string of overnight vehicle break-ins early Monday morning.
According to police, a series of thefts from vehicles occurred within the Bloomfield Hills subdivision on July 20, 2026, at approximately 2:30 AM.
Investigators are asking anyone living in the area to check their exterior camera systems—including Ring doorbells, Nest cams, or traditional CCTV networks—for any suspicious activity, individuals, or vehicles captured around that timeframe.
Rather than having officers collect video files door-to-door, the department has set up a direct digital portal to streamline the investigation. Residents who find relevant video clips or photos can upload them securely and directly to detectives via the department’s Axon Community Request system.
