Schools Warn of New Tik Tok School Threat Challenge

US – Schools are warning of a new Tik Tok trend that is spreading fears of violence across the country.

Recently several schools in the southern Ohio area have dealt with school threats adding to stresses to law enforcement, schools, and parents. Now schools are learning that this may be the newest Tik Tok trend that has gone viral on the social media giant.

The challenge tells students to call in a school shooting or a bomb threat at a school on December 17th to get out of class for the weekend, some schools start the Christmas holiday on Friday.

Today Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey reported on December 16, 2021 the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office responded to Logan Elm Schools, Saltcreek Elementary School on a threat against the school.

At the end of a short investigation, a 5th-grade student at Saltcreek Elementary admitted to putting the threat out over social media.
The student was charged Inducing Panic a Felony of the 2nd Degree if committed by an adult and taken to the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center.
