Ross K9 Deputy Reports His Own Crash After Falling Asleep at Wheel

ROSS – A Ross County Deputy reported that he crashed his cruiser last night after nodding off on duty.

According to the report the K9 deputy he stated he fell asleep while
driving, crossed the center line, went off the road to the left, traveled through the grass and was unable to stop before hitting the business
sign for Hirsch’s Fruit Market on SR 772.

The sign post was damaged but the sign itself appeared ok other than being knocked off the posts. The vehicle was damaged on the front left, with the push bar being pushed into the radiator and hood and the front lower spoiler area being damage. The vehicle was able to be driven to the repair shop and left.

The K9 and the Deputy were not injured in the crash
