Ross County – A man with a criminal history was arrested this morning after taking law enforcement on a chase through half the county.
According to early reports, an attempt to stop occurred around 2 am off Bridge Street in Chillicothe, but after law enforcement turned on their lights the suspect took off. The chase went southbound on Bridge Street before the suspect entered US-35 westbound where speeds of up to 80 mph were clocked. Several units attempted to get into position to spike strip the vehicle. Eventually, the suspect took law enforcement southbound on US-23. The suspect then turned into Maple Lane in Massieville and onto Lakeview Drive where he found himself at a dead end.
After the vehicle stopped the suspected identified as 27-year-old Cameron Napier still did not comply with law enforcement and officers had to deploy a taser in order to arrest the man.
Napier is charged with agg menacing, failure to comply, obstruction, OVI, and resisting arrest. Napier is a patrol holder with several charges in his past including robbery and receiving stolen property.
