Ross County – A man has been charged with several domestic violence charges after a serious incident that occurred on 5/12/24

According to the Chillicothe Police Department, they were called to a home after a victim called 911 after leaving her home after her live-in boyfriend attacked her. In the report, the victim claimed that the suspect identified as Peyton Hill had slapped her with an open hand, punched her multiple times, choked her, and raped her. She explained to police that he had come home drunk from family’s house and fell asleep on the couch. She said the violence happened after their infant son woke her and Hill up crying around 3 am. When she encountered Hill she asked if he had brought supplies home that she had asked but he said no and got angry with her. That was when she said the violence erupted and he grabbed her and assaulted her. She said that she then attempted to remove the baby from the home and was assaulted a second time. Finally leaving home with the baby she went to a family member’s home and called the police.

Police were able to find injuries that were consistent with her story, and she allowed police to check the home where they found physical evidence of the assaults.

Peyton Hill was arrested and charged with Strangulation and Domestic Violence, with possible rape charges. He is being held in Ross County Jail.
