Ross County – A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged with several crimes losing control of his vehicle and smashing it into private property at least twice while trying to get away
A Ross County BOLO (Be on the Lookout) was issued for Silver Mercury after that vehicle left the scene of a crash in the area of Eastern Ave. Chillicothe police department started to search the area while on patrol and one officer who was heading south on Douglas Ave toward Eastern Ave found a trail of the suspect’s vehicle, around the area of 500 block of Douglas Ave a mailbox was observed to be completely torn from the ground and smashed along with pieces of the vehicle. Shortly up the roadway around the 800 block of Jefferson ave. the vehicle was found with a smashed front end, airbags deployed, and leaking fluid. Another vehicle that was struck was a Honda Pilot that had disabling damage to it also with fluid running out of it.
Melvin Gibson III was arrested and charged with for failure to control, fleeing the scene
of an accident, inducing panic, and a probation violation. He is currently being held in Ross County Jail
