The Kocheran Strong Foundation, led by former law enforcement officer Eric Kocheran, recently hosted “Destination Christmas” to support children in Kinship care. The Ross County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile division’s CASA (Child Appointed Special Advocates) volunteer program will receive the donation of nearly $2000 to purchase Christmas gifts for the children and teens.

Key contributions included:

  • Food from CASA Del Taco
  • Comedy performance by Lori Graves
  • DJ entertainment by Jamie Lynch with LM Entertainment
  • Venue provided by Jaycees Golf Course

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made this event possible, including those who attended or made monetary donations.

“We’re excited to announce that this will become an annual event, ” shared CASA Director Britni Brown. “We have over 300 children, with 112 new cases in 2024. We are currently seeking volunteers to speak on behalf of these children.”

If you or someone you know might be interested in connecting with even just one child, you can make a life-long lasting impression with as much or as little time involved as you would like by becoming a CASA.

CASA is a statewide organization of 47 programs in 60 counties who speak in court on behalf of abused and/or neglected children, according to the www.ohiocasa.org webpage.

To join, there are upcoming training sessions to be held from November 5th to 21st:

  • In-person: Every Tuesday during that timeframe
  • Virtual: Every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
