Ross County – Construction in Several Areas of the County Begins this Week

The following construction and maintenance projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ross County through the week ending June 4. All outlined work is weather permitting.

S.R. 207 Culvert Replacement –  A project is set to begin on June 6, to replace a culvert on S.R. 207 between Dodd Road and Westfall Road. Traffic will be detoured via S.R. 207 to S.R. 138 to U.S. 35 to S.R. 104. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 41 Slide Repair –  A project is set to begin on June 6, to replace a culvert between Tong Hollow Road and Whestone Road. Traffic will be detoured via S.R. 41 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 28 to S.R. 41. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 772 Culvert Replacement –  A project is set to begin on June 6, to replace a culvert on S.R. 772 between Rinehart Road and Liberty Hill Road. Traffic will be detoured via C.R. 167 (Blain Highway) to S.R. 104 to U.S. 50. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

U.S. 50 Resurfacing –  Work has begun on a project to resurface U.S. 50 from the Highland County line to the village of Bainbridge as of May 23. Work will occur daily from 7 AM – 5 PM, Mon – Fri, with one lane of traffic maintained using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

U.S. 35 West Bridge Deck Repair –  Work has begun on a bridge deck repair project on U.S. 35 Westbound between Main Street and Bridge Street as of April 18. The project will repair and overlay the deck of the bridge that carries U.S. 35 West over U.S. 23 South. Traffic on U.S. 35 West will be maintained in one lane throughout the project. Estimated completion: Summer 2022 

Adena Road Bridge Closure – Adena Road is closed at the bridge over U.S. 35 until further notice due to a damaged beam. The bridge will remain closed until repairs can be completed. Repairs are estimated to begin sometime in May. Traffic is being detoured via Pleasant Valley Road, S.R. 104, Orange Street, Piatt Avenue, and Buckeye Street. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 180/ S.R. 327 Resurfacing –  Work has begun on a resurfacing project on S.R. 180 between Hallsville and Adelphi, and S.R. 327 between Londonderry and Adelphi as of April 4. Work will occur daily from 7 AM to 5 PM, with traffic maintained in one lane using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 772 Landslide Remediation – Work has begun on a project to remediate a landslide along S.R. 772 by benching and laying back of the existing hillside. The project is located between Bishop Hill Road and Rinehart Road. Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal for the first phase of construction, with traffic maintained in one lane using flaggers as needed. A later phase of the project will require a full closure of S.R. 772. Estimated completion: Fall 2022

S.R. 159 Signal upgrade- A project to upgrade numerous traffic signals along Bridge Street (S.R. 159) in the city of Chillicothe. This project will affect the signals between Stewart Lane and Menard’s, as well as additional improvements to the U.S. 35 Eastbound off-ramp intersection. Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal, but may include short term lane closures and restrictions during work hours, 7 AM to 3 PM. Access to businesses and side roads will be maintained throughout construction. Estimated completion: Summer 2022
