Red Cross Celebrates March with Increased Need for Blood Donations and Local Drives in Pickaway County

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio (February 26, 2024) – The American Red Cross is calling for blood donations throughout the month of March, a historically challenging period for maintaining a sufficient national blood supply. Thanks to community support, February collections are exceeding expectations, but continued efforts are needed.

March is Red Cross Month:

To encourage blood donations, the Red Cross is offering incentives throughout March:

  • March 1-24: Donors will receive a $10 e-gift card to a pet supply store and be entered to win a $3,000 gift card (5 winners).
  • March 25-31: Donors will receive a special edition Godzilla vs. Kong t-shirt.

Pickaway County Blood Drives:

Residents in Pickaway County have several opportunities to donate blood throughout March:

  • March 6: OhioHealth Berger Hospital (8:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
  • March 7: Teays Valley High School (8 AM – 2 PM) & Westfall High School (8 AM – 1 PM)
  • March 12: Pickaway County District Library (12 PM – 6 PM)
  • March 13: Trinity Lutheran Church (10 AM – 4 PM)
  • March 15: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (12 PM – 6 PM)
  • March 21: Amvets Post 2256 (1 PM – 6 PM)

Help Save Lives:

The Red Cross emphasizes the importance of blood donations throughout the year, but especially during March. Donating blood can save up to three lives, and residents of Pickaway County are encouraged to participate in these critical blood drives.
