OHIO – It has been noted that Ohio is not the first state which most people think about when it comes to solar power plants. Ohio had just installed 202 MWdc at the end of 2018, which makes it being placed in the
bottom half of national capacity that installed power plants.

The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) considers the Highland Solar Farm of Hecate Energy, a project which is planned for Highland County near the border of Kentucky. Moreover, Tradewind Energy has obtained an interconnection agreement from PJM Interconnection, a grid operator, for three separate
phases of its solar power project in Pickaway County, that total 150 MWac.

There is no mention of the three solar projects in Pickaway County among those listed by the OPSB
as either pending or approved on its site. The Hillcrest Solar Farm of Open Road is the only large solar project that has been found which has approvals by both PJM Interconnection and OPSB. Additionally, there is the matter of financing and power contracts and the Highland Solar of Hecate, that has its own
page on the site of Hecate, is the only project in which the developer has announced a power purchase agreement publicly.
