Staff Reports

The following cases recently were heard by Judge P. Randall Knece in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court:

– Brice A. Bailey, 28, of Amanda, pleaded guilty to a violation of terms of intervention. He was sentenced to 14 months in state prison at Orient and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

– Mary A. Barton, 23, of Walnut Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of heroin. She was sentenced to three years of intervention and completion of a community-based correctional facility program.

– John F. Hill, 50, of South Scioto Street, Circleville, pleaded not guilty to four counts of possession of cocaine. A pretrial hearing is set for Sept. 18.

– Carre L. Perkins, 50, of Laurel Street, Laurelville, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of heroin. She was sentenced to 11 months in state prison (suspended), 30 days in the county jail, three years of intervention and completion of a community-based correctional facility program.

– Kendra A. Queen, 25, of Skyline Drive, South Bloomfield, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of heroin. She was sentenced to three years of intervention, 30 days in the county jail and completion of a community-based correctional facility program.

– Amanda D. Saltz, 34, of Hamilton Avenue, New Holland, pleaded guilty to a violation of community control. She was sentenced to 22 months in state prison at Marysville.

– Jacob R. Savage, 24, of Grove City, pleaded guilty to burglary. He was sentenced to four years in state prison at Orient and $6,202.10 in restitution.

– Tamera J. Thornton, 55, of West Ohio Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and possession of heroin. She was sentenced to three years of intervention.

– Betsy S. Vangundy, 23, of West High Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in cocaine and two counts of trafficking in heroin. She was sentenced to three years of intervention, 30 days in the county jail and completion of a community-based correctional facility program.

– Mary A. Walker, 50, of East Mound Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. She was sentenced to three years of intervention.

– Jay L. Blazer, 37, of Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to complicity to possession of drugs. He was sentenced to 16 months in state prison (suspended) and must serve 30 days in the county jail and three years of community control. He also received a six-month driver’s license suspension and a $1,500 fine.

– David A. Cornwell, 31, of Walnut Street, Circleville, pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking in heroin and two counts of trafficking in cocaine. A pretrial hearing is set for Sept. 18.

Alicia B. Farleigh, 21, of Spangler Road, Circleville, pleaded guilty to illegal manufacturing of drugs. She was sentenced to three years in state prison at Marysville and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

Mollie E. Gerber, 30, of Powell, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. She will be sentenced following a pre-sentence investigation by the court.

– Krista M. Giffin, 22, of Kingston Court, Circleville, pleaded guilty to a violation of terms of intervention. She was sentenced to six months in a community-based correctional facility program.

– Samuel D. Good, 36, of Hayesville Road, Kingston, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of drugs and possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to three years of intervention and six months in a community-based correctional facility program.

– William L. Gumm, 45, of Canal Street, Ashville, pleaded guilty to theft of drugs. He was sentenced to 18 months in state prison (suspended), 30 days in the county jail and a $1,000 fine.

– Shad N. Sammet, 22, of Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of criminal tools and breaking and entering. He will be sentenced following a pre-sentence investigation by the court.

– William R. Young Jr., 37, of Lucasville, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of heroin, breaking and entering and theft. He was sentenced to three years of intervention and 30 days in the county jail.
