John Junk, age 76, of Cardington, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015.
He was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Mt. Sterling, to the late Webster and Mildred Junk.
John loved horses; he trained and showed horses until the late 1980s. He helped with 4-H and was part of the first 4-H horse club in Franklin County.
John attended The Ohio State University before joining the US Army and serving his country from 1958-1962. He retired from Fairfield engineering in 2003.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Webster.
He is survived by his son, JD Junk of Caladona; his wife, Lilah of Cardington; sister, Joy Wilson of Washington Court House; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. John will be laid to rest in Pleasant Cemetery.
