CIRCLEVILLE – “The Eyes of Freedom,” the Lima Company memorial exhibit, will return to Circleville for the 2016 Pumpkin Show.
Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment was one of the most heavily-engaged combat units in the Iraq war. During its 2005 deployment, 22 Marines and one Navy corpsman gave the ultimate sacrifice to our nation.
The Eyes of Freedom memorial, unveiled to the public on Memorial Day 2008, was created to honor those heroes and all veterans, past, present and future.
Ohio artist Anita Miller created the traveling tribute, which includes eight large mural paintings depicting the Lima Company’s fallen, along with other displays and memorabilia that now travel the country, rallying communities and saluting service.
The Eyes of Freedom will be on display Oct. 19 to 22 during the Circleville Pumpkin Show inside Memorial Hall at East Main and South Pickaway streets. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily throughout the show.
More information on the exhibit can be found at www.limacompanymemorial.org.
