Wanda L. Lemon, 81, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Best Care Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born on May 18, 1935, at Ashley Corner, Scioto County, to the late Kermit H. and Myrtle Holbrook Cheek.
Wanda was a homemaker and gardener. She was a graduate of South Webster High School and was a past member of Eastern Star and Porter Grange.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, David C. Lemon Sr., in 2010.
She is survived by her son, David Jr. (Patty) Lemon of Wheelersburg; daughter Diane Campbell of Minford; brother, Gary Cheek (Kaye Gray) of Oak Hill; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Jill, Crystal, Robin, Tana, Kyle and Ross; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, in Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, with Rev. Gary Frampton officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
