Michael Eugene Speakman, 60, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 4, 1956, in Washington Court House, the son of Clyde Eugene and Nancy Jane (Chester) Speakman.
He was preceded in death by his father; his father- and mother-in-law, Truman and Velma Eberly; and his brother-in-law, Steve Eberly.
Mike was a 1974 graduate of Circleville High School where he was known as “Zeak.” He retired from GE after 20 years service.
Mike was a sports enthusiast, had played baseball and softball and was quite the bowler – he once bowled two “300” games in the same week. He enjoyed riding his Harley and walking around town, following the same route and making stops at Wittich’s and CVS along the way. He had an eclectic taste in music and listened to everything from classical to jazz to country.
Mike will be missed by his family: mother, Nancy Speakman; wife, Debbie (Eberly) Speakman; daughter, April Noelle Speakman; grandchildren, Lily Noelle, Alexander Michael and Ethan James Rhodes; siblings, Randy (Karen Aldstadt) Speakman and his children, Nicholas and Nyles (Michelle Harper) Speakman, Gina (Mike) Stiles and their children, Leah and Ean Stiles and Rusty (Jennifer) Speakman and their children, Rhett and Rayann Speakman; and sister-in-law, Lisa Eberly.
Following Mike’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Arrangements were made with Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
