Jack M. “Zeke” Zeallear, 68, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at Grant Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Columbus, to the late Jack and Lillian (Woodruff) Zeallear.

Zeke retired from Englefield Oil Co., had worked at COPW (Parts Plus) for many years and Coca Cola for several years.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam and had attended South High School in Columbus.

He was preceded in death by parents; and granddaughter, Sara Duty.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce G. (Hatfield) Zeallear; children, Joseph (Jarah) Zeallear of Columbus, Shawn (Tonya) England of Ashville and Annette (Paul) Duty of Columbus; aunt, Mary Zeallear of Columbus; grandchildren, Josh (Kimberly) Zeallear and Haley Zeallear, all of Columbus, Parris (Brandon) Bragg and Alexis (Billy) Campbell, all of Orient, Houston England of Ashville, Ben (Tiffany) Duty, Jon Duty and Nic (Stephanie) Duty, all of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Troy, Kylie, Braelynn, Mason and Annabelle.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016. Interment will follow in Obetz Cemetery with military graveside service by AMVETS Post 2256.

The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
