Betty Jane Justice, 91, of Washington Court House, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2016, at Carriage Court Assisted Living, where she had been residing since Jan. 21, 2004.
Mrs. Justice was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Madison Mills, to Frank Thomas and Laura Alice Cooper Piatt.
She lived most of her life in New Holland and Washington Court House. She was a licensed practical nurse and had formerly worked at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Justice was a member of the New Holland Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar E. Gire in 1944, and Nelson B. Justice Sr. in 2005; a daughter, Sarah Alice (Sally) Gire Justice; a son-in-law, H. Robert (Rob) Rowe; nine brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Justice is survived by a daughter, Sharon Jo (Gire Justice) Rowe of East Liverpool; a son, Nelson B. Justice Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Palmetto, Florida; seven grandsons and their spouses, H. Phillip and Julie Rowe, Robert Aaron and Renae Rowe, Timothy Lee Rowe, Nelson B. and Lynn Justice III, William Asher and Tina Justice, Tyler Cameron Justice and Nathan Prescott Justice; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Cheney of Washington Court House; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Todd Maurer, minister at the Crossroads Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
